American EV giant Tesla has officially begun deliveries of its first Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in Thailand, nearly two months after it accepted orders in December 2022.
On Sunday, a Twitter user @Tslachan revealed that Tesla began customer deliveries for the abovementioned EVs in Thailand on February 11. Interestingly, the Tweet included photographs of the first Model Y units about to be dispatched. As you can see below, the EVs are in red, white, and gray paint at a local distribution hub.
Tesla received 5,000 reservations for Model 3 and Model Y
It would appear that the photos were taken at a celebration event attended by Tesla employees and onlookers. You can even spot a banner written with the following salutation:
“Thank you for accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy.”
Notably, the significant announcement emerged just weeks after Tesla launched its first V3 Supercharger in the country. Apart from that, Tesla has also ventured into the preparation of its first storefront in Bangkok.
Almost immediately after Tesla’s launch in Thailand, the company received approximately 5,000 Model 3 and Model Y EVs orders. It only signifies how Tesla EVs are well-liked by foreign buyers.
