Tesla Shop instantly updated the Model S Plaid’s all-new Track Package status as “out of stock” just a few hours after announcing the Nurburgring lap record.
“Designed for the ultimate track experience, the Model S Plaid Track Package delivers high-speed stability, maximum cornering force, and repeatable stopping power during high-performance driving while unlocking a top speed of 200 mph.”
Tesla described is Track Package
As EV-a2z previously recently reported, the Track Package-equipped Tesla Model S Plaid dethroned the former Nurburgring King Porsche Taycan Turbo S, as it successfully completed a 12.94-mile lap in just 7 minutes and 25.231 seconds on June 2.
Unfortunately, interested buyers of the package encountered an “out of stock” notification.
Tesla has also not announced the number of available Track Packages included in its initial release. However, it seems very limited, considering how quickly they sold out.
About the Track Package
As previously mentioned, the Tesla Model S Plaid’s Track Package offers the following features:
- forged aluminum Zero-G wheels
- track-ready Goodyear Supercar 3R tires
- Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit: carbon-silicon carbide rotors, one-piece forged calipers with high-performance pads and track-ready brake fluid
The brakes are the most widely criticized component for track driving. Therefore, the Track Package’s main component is the rotors, given that they manage the brake issues. The entire rotor surface is covered in a ceramic friction layer for added longevity, improving the pedal feel for everyday driving by lowering brake dust, corrosion, and wear.
The Carbon Ceramic Brake package with the upgraded brake fluid costs $15,000. If wheels and tires are also purchased, the cost jumps to $20,000.
Customers save $1,000 by purchasing the full kit because the Zero-G wheels with Goodyear tires can also be bought separately for $6,000 instead of as part of the package.
