Tesla’s popular electric sedan Model 3 overthrew all other electric vehicle models in Australia in October 2022, The Driven reports, citing FCAI’s latest data. China-made BYD Atto 3 trailed closely behind, aiding Tesla in boosting the local market’s sales.
Australia’s October EV sales
According to the report, Australia’s EV registrations have already exceeded the 70,000 unit threshold this year (up 190% YoY). It strongly defends a 7% market share so far this year, NRMA indicated.
Notably, EVs now account for 5.67% of the overall vehicle sales last month of 106,809 vehicles (regardless of powertrain). This year to date, Australia’s vehicle sales have achieved a total of 1,006,095 units, CarSauce asserted.
