Elon Musk-led automaker Tesla announced the launch of its 4th-generation (V4) Supercharger installations across Europe. Global Charging Infrastructure Head Rebecca Tinucci delivered the development during the company’s Investor Day on March 1.
Ms. Tinucci outlined the automaker’s next-gen Superchargers after confirming that the Magic Dock would launch at 10 US Supercharging stations.
“We’re also just started installing our 4th generation supercharger posts, those are being installed in Europe first. While it’s not a big thing to mention, they do have longer charging cables so we can more easily reach charge ports of different vehicles.”

Tesla V4 Superchargers to address common problems faced by drivers
Tesla only provided short cables for its standard Superchargers, just long enough to reach the rear driver-side charging socket on Tesla cars. However, some EVs have charging outlets either at the front or midsection.
Now that the automaker has launched its V4 Superchargers stations, Tesla owners in Europe may charge their cars with longer wires.
Unfortunately, Tesla has not yet revealed informative images of the V4 charger or relevant details like power capacity.
In retrospect, Tesla enthusiast John Harris (@JH_bedford) provided technical sketches for the Danvers, Massachusetts’ planned Supercharging station. It features “Alternative Supercharger Posts,” which could be a step in the transition from V3 to V4, among other things.
Tesla Supercharger’s global footprint
Tesla also announced that it had deployed 9TWh of Superchargers in 2022. At the same time, it reported Supercharging sessions of 1.5 million per week on top of its astounding 99.9% uptime.
As of now, Tesla has strategically deployed more than 40,000 Superchargers near amenities across 46 countries.

All that said, Tesla’s Supercharger is indeed the most extensive global fast-charging network in the world. Let’s just wait for any additional information Tesla may release in the upcoming days regarding the V4 Supercharger.
