Tesla’s all-electric pickup Cybertruck has once again impressed the automotive industry as it successfully beat Ford’s F-150 Raptor in a drag race conducted by carwow at the Gigafactory Texas in Austin.
About the models
The UK-based online car marketplace put the Cybertruck’s top-tier variant Cyberbeast against Ford’s performance pickup truck in a quarter-mile drag race.
The Cyberbeast has three electric motors that generate a combined output of 845 horsepower and 930 Nm of torque. It weighs 3,084 kilograms (6,843 pounds). It is more affordable than Ford’s pickup at $99,990.
Meanwhile, the Ford F-150 Raptor R is equipped with a 5.2 liter V8 engine that enables a maximum output of 700 horsepower and 868 Nm of torque. It also has a curb weight of 2,703 kg (6,000 pounds). Its price may set you back at an astounding $109,250.

Drag race results
As you can see in the video attached to the X post below, carwow conducted several drag races between the Cybertruck and the F-150 Raptor R.
The stainless steel beast beat its opponent with or without a rolling start each time.
Tesla’s Cybertruck finished the quarter-mile in just 11.2 seconds, astounding the electric pickup industry.
Meanwhile, the F-150 Raptor R completed the quarter mile in 12.4 seconds. The test resulted in a 1.2-second difference.
A major twist
To spice things up, the Group put the Cybertruck in a disadvantaged position by assigning it to a dirt road. Meanwhile, the Raptor R took the pavement.
Considering the twist, many would expect that Ford’s popular pickup will surpass the Cybertruck’s speed.
However, Tesla’s all-electric pickup still managed to beat the Raptor R even while driving on a dirt road.
The Cybertruck won the first race but lost the second one. It won the third again as it finished the sprint in just 5.1 seconds. Meanwhile, the road-going Raptor took 5.4 seconds.
Tesla emphasized its goal to beat the market leader, the Ford F-150, when it initially introduced the Cybertruck in 2019. It even tested the Cybertruck’s strength in a tug-of-war against the F-150. Now, these new drag race results demonstrate Cybertruck’s potential to beat the pickup, dominating the significant pickup truck market in the US.
