Tesla’s stainless steel electric pickup Cybertruck recently demonstrated impressive speed at a Porsche Club of America (PCA) autocross event.
Cybertruck participates in Porsche autocross event
Cybertruck Owners Club forum member TeslaKen shared on the online community that he brought his Cyberbeast at an autocross event held by the Porsche Club of America (PCA).
TeslaKen was apparently an instructor for beginners. However, he did not miss the chance to drive his Cyberbeast on two separate runs.
The Cyberbeast showed off the capabilities it gained from its four-wheel steering and steer-by-wire systems, such as excellent handling.
In fact, the Tesla community member even shared that the PCA autocross head steward “kind of freaked out” when he first encountered the Cyberbeast’s steer-by-wire system as he took it for a spin. He was apparently not expecting “how responsive the beast would be with drive by wire and rear wheel steering.”
Cybertruck cracks top 5 with remarkable handling
The top-tier variant of the Tesla Cybertruck managed to record competitive run times at the Porsche autocross event.
TeslaKen claims to have hit 1:31.5 in his first run with the Cyberbeast, while the second run was 1:30 even.
According to TeslaKen’s post, more than 30 Porsche sports cars participated in the event, including the Porsche 911, Porsche Boxster, Porsche Cayman, and Porsche Taycan, etc.
Nonetheless, his Cyberbeast was able to record the fifth-best time of the day. It is indeed a remarkable feat, considering the notably heavier weight of the stainless steel Tesla pickup than Porsche sports cars.
TeslaKen further talked about his experience at the Porsche autocross event with his Cyberbeast, assuring that Porsche drivers had no problem with his stunt.
“I think most of the Porsche drivers were fine with it, and several of them saw me instructing, so they know I contribute to the club or may have seen me with my GT4 at events in the past. I got a ton of questions about how far does it go on a charge, how long does it take to charge, etc. etc. and of course comments about looking like a refrigerator.”
