Japanese legacy automaker Nissan has finally initiated the European debut of the Ariya Nismo futuristic electric crossover SUV at the recently concluded season finale of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in London.
Nissan Ariya Nismo EV comes to Europe
Nissan is finally reviving the Nismo brand in Europe. In commemorating the Nismo’s 40th anniversary and three decades of success in the region, the Japanese automaker formally declared the brand’s comeback with the launch of the new Ariya Nismo.
The Ariya Nismo EV is apparently the embodiment of peak Nissan performance, leveraging dynamic agility and aggressive personality. It promises to maintain the Nismo brand’s iconic heritage and Japanese-inspired design while boosting the power and performance of the 87 kWh Ariya e-4ORCE.
“NISMO is back in Europe! We are reintroducing this exciting brand to our market with a new and refreshed model. As we push forward the electrification of our lineup, it’s essential that we continue to offer elite and exciting models to customers and NISMO enthusiasts.”
Mayra González, Divisional Vice President Marketing & Sales, Nissan Europe
Design
Nissan’s new Ariya Nismo EV sports sharp, sporty exterior elements. It also boasts advanced engineering to support a smooth electric driving experience without compromising racetrack excitement.
The electric SUV’s aerodynamic design helps to reduce drag and boost downforce at higher speeds, enabling it to deliver smooth yet high-performance driving.
Inside, the new Ariya Nismo EV enables a premium and exclusive user experience. It has a sleek, black-based interior with red accents that improve its sophisticated design. It also has Formula E cars-inspired Nismo seats that provide strong grip and comfort.
Technical specs
The new Ariya Nismo EV builds upon the dual-motor Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE, making it the “embodiment of ultimate Nissan performance.”
Nissan disclosed two variants for the new electric crossover at the previous Tokyo Auto Salon. However, it seems that the European market will get an even more powerful variant.
Nissan’s Europe-bound Ariya Nismo EV will reportedly utilize a larger 87kWh battery pack, very similar to the B9 e-4ORCE model unveiled in Japan in March. It will also feature two electric motors that can yield a combined output of 320kW (429bhp) and 600Nm of torque.
“The Ariya NISMO strikes the perfect balance of immediate response and acceleration of an all-electric car with the mechanical fine-tuning of a sports car, resulting in an outstanding car for day-to-day driving. With its striking design and stance, get ready to stand out from the crowd!”

Nissan encourages interested customers to stay tuned for more Ariya Nismo electric SUV updates later this year.
The new Ariya Nismo EV will substantially aid the Japanese automaker in achieving its goal of having electric vehicles account for 100% of its new vehicle sales in Europe by 2030.
