South Korean automaker Kia had its highest growth rate in November this year, with a YoY growth of 15% to 252,825 sales. Year to date, Kia saw a YoY increase of 3.7% to 2.65 million units, according to Top Car News.
Kia EV6 electric car sales (wholesale sales) – November 2022
Furthermore, Kia’s all-electric sales also improved in November, with a remarkable YoY increase of 61% in wholesale sales of Kia EV6 to 7,754 units. Specifically, 2,280 of that total were domestically sold, while 5,474 were exported.
If the South Korean automaker continues at this pace, it may soon produce its 10,000th Kia EV6 before the year’s end. So far this year, Kia EV6’s monthly sales average is almost 7,000 units.
Since the wholesale volume of Kia EV6s has already surpassed 75,000 so far this year, we may continue to predict that at least 80,000 may be achieved by the end of 2022.
Notably, 73,167 EV6 Kia EV6 units were exported in the first 11 months of this year. Overall, the South Korean automaker has reportedly assembled 105,000 Kia EV6 units.
Retail sales
Kia reports 3,059 Kia EV6 retail sales beyond South Korea in its monthly sales data report, including 641 in the United States.
Unfortunately, the report lacks Kia’s domestic market figures. Nonetheless, the Niro EV and Soul EV each saw 3,136 and 273 retail sales outside of South Korea, correspondingly.
Sales of Kia BEVs in November
The Niro EV has recorded the highest retail sales globally, with 3,136 units. The Kia EV6 follows it with 3,059 units, and the Soul EV with just 273 units.
Below are Kia’s overall BEV retail sales in November:
- EV6: 3,059 retail sales outside South Korea
(7,754 wholesale – 2,280 in South Korea and 5,474 exported) - Niro EV: 3,136 retail sales outside South Korea
- Soul EV: 273 retail sales outside South Korea
- Total*: at least 8,748 (down 18% year-over-year) or 3.5% of the total volume
*South Korea (EV6) + overseas retail sales data (EV6, Niro EV, Soul EV)
The increase in Kia’s wholesale sales highlights how gradually society embraces electric vehicles. Whether the improvement is small or big does not matter as long as the EV drive keeps moving forward.
