Navigation apps are helpful for EV drivers, especially in finding the next charging station, and Sygic makes things easier for EV drivers.
Sygic, a Slovak-based company of automotive navigation systems, and GreenWay, an EV charger company, partnered up to offer convenience for its users.
The two companies have worked together to make GreenWay charging stations work better with Sygic’s navigation software.
With Sygic’s app, EV drivers will be able to locate GreenWay’s charging stations on the map (all located in Europe, particularly in Poland and nearby countries). They can access information such as availability and rates. There are more than 500 charging stations in the GreenWay network, representing more than 2,300 charging points.
Sygic claims that users may also access the charging process directly in the navigation app and even make the payment in it.
Martin Strigač, CEO of Sygic, said: “Sygic GPS Navigation already has more than 460,000 charging points in electric mode in Europe. Over the last twelve months, this number has increased by more than 130,000 thanks to the expansion of the GreenWay network as well as other partners. We are very pleased to be part of a progressive ecosystem that helps drivers decide to travel greener, thanks to the sophisticated data and travel and charging features we provide in navigation,”
Peter Badík, CEO of GreenWay Infrastructure, also commented on the partnership: “The development of electromobility provides space for new partnerships and innovative ideas. We believe that the CEE region has great potential and we are open to other new partnerships that will bring solutions to increase driver comfort while promoting sustainability and a healthy environment for all.”
Both companies said it plans to expand their coverage in the future updates for their partners in Europe.
Furthermore, many navigation apps are now being updated with the locations of charging stations. Still, Sygic’s convenience is that it claims that you can process everything in its app.
According to auto evolution, many developers in the market are currently developing a much-advanced integration. For instance, Google has taken Google Maps to the next level on Android Automotive. The app can now collect information from the car’s battery and offer new navigation ways.
