Tesla announced the commencement of Model S and X Plaid test drives in Europe on January 10 via its official Twitter account, as reported Tesmanian.
Finally, potential Tesla customers can now experience driving the Plaid models with a steering yoke before ordering.
Deliveries
Tesla started exporting thousands of Model S and Model X Plaid units to Europe last December. The deliveries essentially filled Tesla’s European showrooms with these new offerings.
Notably, as per the report, Tesla plans to continue the delivery operation to the European market this year.
Benefits of the test drives
Potential customers may now learn their comfortability with the steering yoke while driving these Tesla EVs. If they come to dislike the yoke, they can choose the round steering wheel as a replacement.
It is worth noting that Tesla previously removed this option for a long time. Now, the automaker finally listened to customer feedback to reintroduce the regular steering wheel.
As expected, the introduction of the steering yoke has gained different opinions from current and potential customers. Some were discouraged from buying the car, while some were impressed with the advantages of the steering yoke.
That said, the test drives will significantly help customers decide on buying the Tesla Model S and X Plaid variants. It would be easier than before as they now have options.
