MG Motor’s electric vehicle (EV) sales increased by 145% to 2,798 units in 2021, and there is a gradual upward trend in EV demands in India due to a hike in fuel price and eco-friendly Govt’ policy. Company sold 1,142 units in 2020, as confirmed by company officials.
MG Motor has one electric sport utility vehicle, ZS EV, in India, launched in Jan 2020, and the company had the facelift version of this product in February last year. This vehicle is having a certified range of 419 Km in one full recharge. ZS EV offers the longest range compared to any EV in India.
ZS EV comes with two variants, Excite and Exclusive, with prices starting from INR 21.49 Lakh (USD 29K approximately) . The company official said that customers are continuously showing interest in ZS EV, with an average booking of 700 per month.
According to a media release, along-with vehicle, the MG offers five ways charging eco-systems, i.e. free of cost AC first charging at home/office, portable in-car charging cable, DC superfast charging stations at dealerships, 24X7 charge-on-the-go facility in five city and charging stations in satellite cities and tourist hubs.
