Volkswagen and Amazon have partnered to provide in-person, Alexa-powered test drives of the ID.4 electric crossover to consumers in a few countries by the start of this fall. The vehicle’s dashboard contains an Echo Auto gadget that empowers the Alexa-guided test drive, according to Electric Car Reports.
Interestingly, users may use Alexa to acquire additional information about the ID.4’s numerous features as they get experience driving it. For instance, Alexa will respond, “The seat massage function is available in the front seats of the I.D.4 Pro S and Pro S with Gradient. If you’d like to try it, just ask, ‘Alexa, how do I turn on the massage feature,'” if the user inquires about the car’s available massaging seats.
Notably, the ID.4’s functions can be shared through Alexa, including its battery, charging, blind spot monitor, connection to infotainment, price, regular maintenance, and much more.
Volkswagen’s electric vehicle education and democratization mission is carried out through the Test Drive with Alexa initiative, which was developed in conjunction with Amazon Ads and Amazon Web Services. Customers may now test drive a Volkswagen without feeling any additional pressure, giving them the flexibility to explore the vehicle.
“In our push to bring EVs and electromobility to all, we need to find new and exciting ways to talk to our customers,” said Andrew Savvas, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, Volkswagen Group of America. “This collaboration with Amazon does just that. Future Volkswagen owners can experience all our ID.4 has to offer with the aid of a voice service they’ve already come to know.” |
Customers may register for a Test Drive With Alexa and set up their own ID.4 at www.amazon.com/id4testdrive. It is also worth mentioning that customers should allow 45 minutes for the complete process, which includes the 30-minute test drive. After the test drive, they may also get further details on reserving ID.4 at the accredited Volkswagen dealership.
The ID.4 competes in the compact SUV market, the world’s largest market segment. Currently, the ID.4 is being produced in Germany, China, and at Volkswagen’s Chattanooga, Tennessee, facility.
Remarkably, the ID.4 is the first worldwide EV and all-electric SUV from Volkswagen. It combines the benefits of a purpose-built EV with performance, packaging, and value. Moreover, it is based on Volkswagen’s MEB electric vehicle architecture.
Notably, ID.4 deliveries are scheduled to begin later this year.
