Vietnamese electric automaker VinFast has officially launched the new VF 7 SUV in its home market, Motor Illustrated reported.
The local market launch of the competitively priced model stirred excitement among the US-based customers of the brand.
What’s currently known about the VF 7?
The all-new VinFast VF 7 will offer two model trims, including the Base and Plus. The Plus apparently features Torino Design’s “asymmetric aerospace” language. It will apparently cost about $35,000 to compete with models like Volkswagen ID.4 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Design and other features
The VinFast VF 7 sports a slim front end design, as per the online configurator. It has a V-shaped daytime running lights design at both ends. It also features light clusters on the bumper.
The model also has incorporated door handles, black rocker panels, a charging port on the left front fender, and a “floating roof” feel at the back.
Vinfast VF 7’s Plus and Base trims offer the VF Connect package, which includes a virtual assistant, plus auto e-call, intrusion alert, and time-fencing.
The brand also provides a competitive monthly battery leasing package worth VND 2.9 million (~$120) for up to 3,000 km.
“In the Vietnamese market, VinFast is offering a battery leasing package at a monthly cost of VND 2.9 million (~$120) for a maximum travel distance of up to 3,000 km per month.
For travel ranges exceeding 3,000 km, the monthly fee will be VND 4.8 million (~$198). A deposit of VND 41 million (~$1,695) will be required for the battery lease. Upon contract termination, battery returns to VinFast, or transferring the vehicle and battery to another owner, this deposit will be refunded to customers.”

VinFast’s portfolio
As mentioned, VinFast is an all-electric vehicle brand from Vietnam. It officially debuted in the US market at the LA Auto Show more than two years ago, Electrek reported.
VinFast has already launched several models, including the VF e34, VF 5, VF 8, VF 9 SUVs, and VF 3 mini e-car. Meanwhile, its US lineup only consists of VF 8 and VF 9. The company apparently plans to also sell the VF 3 on American soil.
Meanwhile, the VF 6 and VF 7 overseas are reportedly in the pipeline for the company’s global market.
VinFast confirmed its plans to also offer the VF 6 and VF 7 in the US, but there is still no specific schedule for this. Nonetheless, Vietnamese customers may place pre-orders for the new VF 7 by December 2, 2023. Meanwhile, local customer deliveries will commence in early next year.
