Tesla is back to hiring after the layoffs in the earlier part of 2022, as per Drive Tesla Canada.
There was a 50 percent increase in job listings in October compared to June.
The American automaker aimed to cut its staff by 10 percent and paused hiring earlier this year after Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated ‘he had a bad feeling about the economy.’
However, the hiring pause was not long since the job listings increased by 50 percent.
“Tesla this week listed over 6,900 jobs on its career website, almost a 50% surged since mid-June, when Reuters began tracking the data. That compares to a 2022 peak of over 7,400 job ads in May, according to data similarly tracked by Thinknum Alternative Data and hedge fund Snow Bull Capital,” Reuters noted.
Though the data did not include job listings in Tesla China.
Notably, the highest number of vacancies include Engineering & Information Technology, Vehicle Service, and Manufacturing.
Most jobs are posted in three states, California, Nevada, and Texas, where the company has manufacturing facilities and a large office.
In addition, the increased hiring is not limited to the US only. A review of the Canadian Tesla Careers website by Drive Tesla presents 189 jobs, higher than what was published in June.
The company opened two new factories, Gigafactory Berlin and Gigafactory Texas. As the carmaker rapidly expands manufacturing, the company will need more staff to reach its goals.
