Tesla’s new Model 3 Highland has won the “Best Car Purchase of the Year” award from Norway-based motoring publication Motor.no.
Winning attributes
Tesla’s all-electric sedan Model 3 has significantly helped the Musk-led company dominate the global industry owing to its competitive technologies, performance, and pricing. However, the model still lacked in some areas, as noted by Teslarati.
In that sense, the local publication selected the Tesla Model 3 Highland as it managed to fill most of the original e-sedan’s areas for improvement. It includes interior design upgrades and cabin noise improvement. The revamped model now has a quieter cabin and a more premium interior.
It would also be better if Tesla could improve its customer ownership experience in Norway soon.
“Improvements have really taken place here, in addition to the quite visible changes to the lights both front and rear. The model’s fundamental strengths are, of course, intact: Lowest consumption, best range, good use of space, high power, and outstanding driving characteristics. And most importantly, all at a price no competitors can match.
The upgraded version, two minuses – noise level and interior quality – have been eliminated. Then there is not much else to criticize other than the gap in the ownership experiences.”

Selection process
Tesla North noted that Motor.no evaluated 50 candidate vehicles across five categories based on the following factors: economic sensibility, predictability of ownership, and performance.
Numerous experts led the selection process, including the publication’s journalist and test manager, Øivind A. Monn-Iversen, technical consultant Benny Christensen, NAF’s marketing and communications director Ulrica Risberg, editor-in-chief Peter Raaum, technical consultant Audun Bergerud, and content manager Marlene Engan Aasen.
