Tesla took the opportunity to present the Cybertruck’s remarkable capabilities, including its bulletproofing, towing, and speed, at the recent Delivery Event.
As shown in Tesla’s “Feat of Strength 3: Cyberbeast (0-60 in 2.6s)” video, the Cybertruck outperformed the gas-powered Porsche 911 in a drag race.
Tesla Cybertruck performance
The Tesla Cybertruck successfully beat the Porsche 911 Carrera in a quarter-mile drag race in less than 11 seconds.
This feat may not be remarkable for most Tesla fans, considering the brand’s reputation for delivering unprecedented straight-line performance.
In a surprising turn of events, Tesla Chief Elon Musk revealed that the Cybertruck was actually towing an extra 911 on a trailer during the drag race. It gave a significant edge to the competing Porsche 911 Carrera, but Tesla’s all-electric pickup still prevailed.
Cybertruck’s advantage
According to Jalopnik, the drag race between the Cybertruck and the 911 Carrera sports car was heavily one-sided even before it started.
The entry-level Carrera apparently generates a maximum power of 379 horsepower with an acceleration from 0-60 mph in four seconds. In comparison, the Cyberbeast claims to have 845 horsepower and an acceleration time of 0-60 mph in just 2.6 seconds.
The Cyberbeast also boasts a whopping 11,000 pounds of towing capacity, enabling it to easily pull another Porsche 911 Carrera.
That said, the Feat of Strength 3 may not seem like an actual contest between the two models. It is more like a level of performance that customers can buy for $99,990 before tax credits and incentives.
