Tesla recorded another quarterly record for its Supercharging network with the addition of 395 stations in the fourth quarter of 2022 alone, as per Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt’s (@SawyerMerritt) Tweet.

Q4 2022 results:
- 395 new stations – up 78% YoY
- 3,536 new individual connectors (stalls) – up 59% YoY
- 9.0 connectors (stalls) per station on average – down 10% YoY
As mentioned above, the Tesla Supercharging network had an additional 395 stations in Q4 2022. Remarkably, that figure represents a year-on-year growth of 78%. For comparison, Tesla’s previous highest record was 383 stations in Q4 2020.
On the other hand, Tesla Supercharger’s individual connectors had their second highest quarterly, with a YoY increase of 59% to 3,536 units in Q4 2022. For comparison, the current highest record is 3,840 in Q4 2020. Meanwhile, Tesla’s Supercharging network has a 9.0 average ratio per station.
As for the full year 2022, Tesla built over 1,200 additional stations with nearly 11,000 individual connectors. With these additions, the network has grown by around a third from 2021.
It is also worth noting that the Non-Tesla Supercharger Pilot is another initiative that Tesla is actively expanding in Europe. It allows non-Tesla customers to utilize some of the Superchargers in 15 nations in the region.

Tesla substantially grew the total number of Supercharging stalls and stations as of Q4 2022.

- 4,678 stations – 35% more than a year ago
- 42,419 individual connectors (stalls) – 35% more than a year ago
- 9.1 connectors (stalls) per station on average – 0.1% more than a year ago
In November 2022, the network formally reached the 40,000-stall mark. In September 2022, the network celebrated its 10th anniversary.
By October 2022, there were over 10,000 stalls built in Europe. Meanwhile, China reached 10,000 stalls in December 2022.
Can Tesla hit 50,000 Supercharger stalls in Q4 2023?

- 20,000: November 2020
- 30,000: November 2021 (+10,000 in a year)
- 35,000: June 2022 (+5,000 in about seven months)

Considering these records, it would not be surprising if Tesla hits a new high of 50,000 stalls by the end of this year.
Indeed, this news is another milestone for the electric vehicle giant. Tesla has been remarkable in the EV industry with various range of products offered in the market. Despite its challenges in 2022, America’s leading EV maker proved its competence again.
