The move is crucial for the company to catch up in the rapidly growing global electric vehicle industry.

Planned lineup

Stellantis will initially debut the Ram ProMaster EV as early as 2023. More zero-emission (ZEV) models from Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, and Ram will follow in the subsequent year.

The long-awaited 2024 Ram ProMaster EV will officially make its debut within the next four months. In addition, the commercial van could be powered by front-mounted 120 hp electric motor and be offered with around 200 miles of electric range. #Ram #ProMasterEV #ProMaster #BEVs pic.twitter.com/tpUXj7pIbp

Fiat will also launch the revamped 500e in the US market in early 2024.

Meanwhile, Ram will rival the popular Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet Silverado EV with its new 1500 REV pickup in the latter part of 2024.

Chrysler will also launch its all-electric crossover model in 2025. Ram may also launch a midsize pickup with an EV counterpart in 2026.

It must be noted that these planned models will sell at more than $25,000, with Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares referring to it as the “sweet spot” for cheaper EV models.

Alfa Romeo aims to be an all-electric brand by 2027, while Chrysler intends to do so in the following year,

As mentioned, Ram will officially launch its new 1500 REV pickup next year.

In hindsight, Ram debuted its first all-electric pickup at the New York Auto Show in April. According to another report from Automotive News, the 1500 REV will feature a standard 168kWh battery that enables a 350-mile driving range.

Meanwhile, the 229kWh battery pack option will enable a driving range of up to 500 miles between chargers.

Stellantis EV sales

Stellantis’ global battery-electric vehicle sales surged 24% year-on-year to 169,000 units in the first half of 2023, according to the company’s First Half 2023 Results.

This sales growth enabled the company to claim the third spot in the EU30 overall BEV sales ranking.

Moreover, its net revenues grew 12% YoY to €98.4 billion in the same period owing to higher shipments. Its net profit also increased 37% YoY to €10.9 billion in H1 2023.

Stellantis aims to have electric vehicles account for 50% of its passenger car and light-duty truck sales in the US by 2030. At the same time frame, it aims to hit 100% EV sales in Europe.

Launching these new models will undoubtedly aid the company in hitting its 2030 targets in the US and European markets.
