Chinese electronics giant Skywell, through its automotive business unit Skyworth, has finally revealed the new Skyhome luxury electric vehicle concept, autoevolution reports.
Introducing the new electric sedan is part of the company’s efforts to penetrate the rapidly growing electric vehicle industry.

Design
The Skyhome EV employs Chinese architectural designs with a classical pavilions-like layout, Motor1.com reports, citing the company’s press release.
It features cornice wings that slide backward while driving to cut wind resistance by 3%. These wings also tilt up in adverse weather to increase resistance by 5% for better control.
Skyhome’s front mirrors the rear end with light strips and some LED segments underneath. It has digital side mirrors, flush door handles, and a panoramic glass roof.
The model concept also has an enormous retractable television for rear passengers. There is still no specific measurement for the TV, but it seems larger than the new BMW 7 Series 31.1″ rear screen based on the pictures. There are also screens on the front headrests.
Technical details
Skywell asserted that the concept car already mirrors 90% of the production model. It will apparently feature two electric motors. There will be both two-wheel and front-wheel drive options, with the latter powered by a single electric motor.
It has a maximum combined output of 617 horsepower (625 PS) and acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) in just 3.5 seconds, CarScoops reported. It also offers air suspension and rear-axle steering.
Unfortunately, the company has yet to reveal the model’s battery information and other technical specifications.
Skyworth expects the production model to hit the market with a base price of 220,000 yuan ($30,851). However, the specific date is yet to be determined.
