Genesis recently revealed the Genesis X Speedium Coupe’s interior at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, continuing the design evolution of the Grand Tourer concept. According to Electrek, the interior design features Genesis’s “beauty of the white space,” a classic Korean design characteristic.
Hyundai and its luxury brand, Genesis, are gradually shifting to the electric vehicle era. The automaker has already sold more than 73,000 EVs with plans to expand its EV market share. In fact, it aims to ramp up EV production in the US to meet the pressing demand and for buyers to receive the new federal tax credits. It is also worth noting that Genesis has plans to reach carbon neutrality by 2035 by launching 8 EV models to achieve 400,000 in annual sales.
With the exterior of the Genesis X Speedium Coupe concept, the company unveiled the preview of the upcoming generation of luxury cars last April. Now, the interior is revealed by Genesis at the Monterey Car Week in 2022.
The Genesis X Speedium Coupe appears to be a cross between a Porsche Panorama and a BMW i8 at first sight, but the Genesis signature design stands out with a closer look. Captivatingly, the design has Genesis’ famous two light strips crossing the front grille.
Inside the vehicle, there are various controls and displays as the floating center console wraps around the driver’s cockpit. Moreover, a pine grove green driver seat offset by Monterey gold all around is accented by its two-tone interior. The gold, which symbolizes the golden sand, was inspired by the northern Californian coasts, as per Electrek’s article.
So far, Hyundai and its high-end brand Genesis are coping well with the shift to electric vehicles. With these recent developments, the automaker will surely be one to watch in the auto industry.
