American automaker Ford announced plans on January 30 to cut the selling price of its best-selling EV, the Mustang Mach-E, by $600 to $5,900. Notably, the announcement occurred after EV giant Tesla implemented a series of substantial price cuts by up to 20% on its EV products.
Ford has also disclosed plans to “significantly” ramp up the production of the electric SUV as it aims to shorten customer wait times and improve its accessibility in the market.
“We are not going to cede ground to anyone. We are producing more EVs to reduce customer wait times, offering competitive pricing and working to create an ownership experience that is second to none.”
Marin Gjaja, Chief customer officer for EVs at Ford
Mustang Mach-E price cuts
Ford established the Mustang Mach-E as the third best-selling EV in the US last year. That said, the price cuts are crucial for the automaker to defend its high position in the market, given that other automakers have also joined the price war triggered by Tesla.
Below are the price cuts on the selected Mustang Mach-E models:
2023 Mustang Mach-E | Former MSRP | Updated MSRP | Delta |
Select RWD Standard Range Select eAWD Standard Range California Route 1 eAWD Extended Range Premium RWD Standard Range Premium eAWD Standard Range GT Extended Range | $46,895 $49,595 $63,575 $54,975 $57,675 $69,895 | $45,995 $48,995 $57,995 $50,995 $53,995 $63,995 | $900 $600 $5,580 $3,980 $3,680 $5,900 |

Ford customers can now enjoy discounts ranging from $600 to $5,900 on selected Mach-E models, depending on the trim level. Not only that, but the discount will also extend to existing buyers who are already awaiting delivery. As for the customers who already received their Mustang Mach-E with a sale date after January 1, Ford will directly contact them about the discounts.
Notably, the electric SUV’s price has been reduced between approximately 1% to 8.8%, indicating that Ford can now manage to offer such discounts as its new EV supply chain is about to come online. However, it must be noted that the MSRP does not include any finance charges, dealer processing fees, electronic filing fees, destination/delivery fees, or emission testing fees. It also does not include government fees and taxes.
Apart from the price cuts, Ford will also offer special rates of 5.34% for customers who ordered the Mustang Mach-E between January 30 and April 3, 2023.
“This is a natural companion to the new Mach-E pricing. The offer is straightforward and competitive, enabling customers to lock in today’s rates, even if rates go up between order and delivery.”
Craig Carrington, Ford Credit executive VP for North America
