American electric automaker Fisker has partnered with leading EV infrastructure firm ChargePoint to provide Fisker Ocean owners with efficient and sufficient public charging solutions, per a press release.
Deal
ChargePoint is committed to providing Fisker with over 210,000 active charging ports directly managed by the charging network giant, including 16,700 fast chargers.
Apart from that, ChargePoint will also provide Fisker with access to more than 400,000 roaming ports with partners.
According to ChargePoint, almost 80% of public charging stations in North America are covered by its almost 17,000 DC fast chargers and roaming chargers.
Considering these numbers, the project will surely enable Fisker Ocean owners to quickly and conveniently locate the nearest Level 2 and DC fast chargers under ChargePoint’s network.
How will it work?
Fisker Ocean owners in US and Canada can instantly access its navigation system on the central display to find the nearest ChargePoint or roaming partner stations.
Apart from that, the ChargePoint app is also available for navigation or even for payment purposes. Both methods can allow drivers to configure their search for DC fast chargers and navigate their route to their destination.
“The minute they get their new Fisker Ocean, our owners want convenient and easy-to-locate public charging stations, a quick, easy experience when using a public charger, and super-simple payment options.
Together with ChargePoint, we are providing a class-leading public charging option for Fisker owners at delivery. ChargePoint is a leading charging network in North America, and their commitment to sustainable mobility makes the partnership a perfect fit for our customers and our business.”

The announcement is indeed a strategic move to entice more customers to buy the Fisker Ocean. For context, the all-electric SUV offers three variants, including the Extreme, Ultra, and Sport, apart from the limited edition Fisker Ocean One.
