American lithium extraction firm EnergyX claims to have achieved a major breakthrough with its SoLiS™ battery development that will apparently pave the way for the 500,000-mile electric car of the future.
According to the press release, the innovative solid-state batteries offer multiple advantages in terms of safety, affordability, and life cycle.
About the EnergyX SoLiS
It must be noted that the ground-breaking solid-state battery of EnergyX is still in the development phase.
Nonetheless, EnergyX claimed that the SoLiS™ battery has a lifespan of more than 600 cycles. It further plans to increase that figure to surpass 1,000 cycles in the future. It is also capable of 15-minute fast charging.

EnergyX claims that these innovative batteries will revolutionize the electric vehicle industry by providing an effective alternative to expensive li-ion batteries.

Government funding and investors
CleanTechnica reported that the US Department of Energy granted EnergyX $5 million in funding for the “Simplified High Purity Direct Lithium Hydroxide Production from Salton Sea Brines” project last July. It is apparently focused on lithium extraction from geothermal brine to support the electric vehicle market.
Moreover, it also gained an investment of $50 million from major South Korean conglomerate Posco Holdings through the Elohim Partners and IMM Investment Global in October.
