French automaker Citroen has finally introduced its first all-electric offering in India, the Citroen eC3. As per Team-BHP.com, the automaker will start accepting reservations for the new EV on January 22, 2023.
Citroen eC3
The Citroen eC3 is the battery-electric counterpart of the automaker’s gas-powered C3 crossover. The new electric hatchback boasts two variants: Live and Feel.
Interestingly, it is expected to compete with Tata’s Tiago EV.
Exterior
In terms of appearance, the new Citroen eC3 looks identical to the C3 crossover. The major difference may be the driver’s side front fender which houses the new charging port. Another difference is that the electric version has white trim bits.
Obviously, the next thing we would notice is the elimination of the tailpipe, which is replaced by an all-electric powertrain.
Interior
The Citroen eC3 has a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, as described by the report.
Its infotainment system measures 10.25 inches with touchscreen features. Furthermore, it offers “wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, height adjustable driver’s seat and over 35 connected car features.”
Performance
The Citroen eC3 is equipped with a 29.2 kWh battery pack and a 3.3 kW onboard AC charger. Remarkably, it propels a front-mounted electric motor with a 56 BHP and 143 Nm output.
The French automaker claims that the eC3 has a 0-60 km/h acceleration time of 6.8 seconds. As for the top speed, it boasts a remarkable 107 km/h.
Moreover, its 320 km range is reportedly ARAI-certified. As for the charging, the battery charges in 10.5 hours with a home charger. Meanwhile, a DC fast charger would take only 57 minutes, from 10% to 80%.
Warranty
The warranty for the Citroen eC3 is 3 years/1,25,000 miles.
In addition, the automaker provides a 5-year/1,000,000 km warranty on the electric motor and a 7-year/1,40,000 km warranty on the battery pack.
Pricing
Citroen has yet to reveal the official price of the electric hatchback for the Indian market. Nonetheless, it is expected to launch in February with a base price of about Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
