Chinese electric automaker Electric House has finally launched a new Yue 01 EV in its home market with a very enticing base price of $8,300, VOI English reports.
The model marks the brand’s second model after the Young Guangxiaoxin mini EV. It hit the market in August 2021 with a price range of 59,800 to 65,800 yuan ($9,400 to $10,300).
Design
The Yue 01 is an all-electric mini-car with five doors and four seats. It measures 3750/1655/1550 mm with a wheelbase of 2415 mm, making it smaller than the popular Wuling Bingo (3950/1708/1580 mm with a 2560 mm wheelbase).
It features 15″ aluminium alloy rims with two-tone exterior body paint. Inside, it sports a dual-colour design that mirrors the exterior colours. The model’s cockpit offers a vertical 10.1″ central control screen and a 7″ LCD instrument panel.
It also sports a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and round AC outlets with minimal physical buttons. In addition, it features a rotary gear knob, a wireless charging pad, and two cup holder slots in the centre console.
Technical details
The new model has six variants, including two range options from 251 km to 335 km owing to 24 kWh and 32.56 kWh battery packs. The power consumption is 9.9 kWh/100 km and 10.3 kWh/100 km, respectively.
Excitingly, Electric House apparently has plans to release a new 408 km variant soon.
All variants will reportedly come with a front-mounted electric motor that delivers 35 kW power and 125 Nm of torque. It also boasts a top speed of 100 km/h. It can also support fast charging from 30%-80% in just 30 minutes.
About Electric House
Electric House succeeded the Xinte Automobile, which left the automotive market during the COVID-19 pandemic. In August 2021, it relaunched with a new brand name, new team, and new strategy aimed at young customers.
At the same year, the Chinese automaker inked a production deal with Sinotruck’s unit VGV. Notably, Sinotruck has been among the biggest truck makers in the Chinese market since its inception in 1930.
The new Yue 01 EV can potentially disrupt the Chinese electric vehicle industry owing to its cheap pricing compared to other models. For those interested, the model has a price range of 59,800 – 79,800 yuan (8,300 – 11,000 USD).
