ChargePoint, a top EV charging network, has formed a partnership with Stem, a global leader in AI-powered clean energy solutions and services, to boost the rollout of EV charging and battery storage solutions for significant road corridor DC fast and other EV charging applications such as fleet charging.
EV site servers can save money on operating costs and increase energy resiliency by incorporating EV charging with battery storage and AI-powered energy management.
ChargePoint will evaluate EV charging consumption at selected EV sites interested in installing DC chargers, evaluate their eligibility for incentive programs such as the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI), and collaborate with Stem to determine a battery energy storage system that could reduce the EV site’s expenditures.
To help companies to achieve ESG goals
Furthermore, the organizations intend to incorporate ChargePoint’s Express Plus advanced fast charging system with Stem’s Athena clean energy platform and on-site energy storage.
This collaborative solution can assist businesses in achieving their ESG goals, particularly when combined with on-site solar.
It can lower an EV site host’s utility costs by reducing expensive demand charges, accounting for a substantial portion of electric vehicle charging operating prices.
EV site hosts can avoid or reduce these costs in areas with high utility demand charges by using battery storage to mitigate demand spikes. Consumers can protect themselves from possible utility rate changes using energy storage-managed EV charging.
An integrated ChargePoint and Stem solution broadens the number of sites that can support high-speed charging economically and at scale

NEVI funding to boost EV adoption
This agreement occurs as the federal government invests billions of dollars in EV charging through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, including $7.5 billion for highway and community charges.
NEVI funding programs are intended to help speed up the development of the facilities necessary for the widespread adoption of electric vehicles.
Stem is excited to partner with ChargePoint to help customers quickly design, develop, and operate cost-effective EV charging infrastructure projects that deliver real value,
The combination of Stem’s solar and storage management leadership and ChargePoint’s EV charging leadership will help empower customers to confidently invest in proven EV strategies with on-site renewables and storage for both immediate and long-term operational, economic and environmental value

Most innovative high-power DC fast charging platform
Express Plus offers one of the most innovative high-power DC fast charge platforms accessible in the US market.
It is designed explicitly for fueling and accessibility, retail, and highway corridor charging points. Express Plus can carry up to 500kW per port, depending on configuration, and is constructed to scale smoothly to fulfill future demand as EV implementation and vehicle capability grow.
With its modular design and liquid-cooled cables, Express Plus can effectively charge today’s and tomorrow’s electric vehicles.
The advantages of Express Plus are augmented by data from Stem’s on-site energy storage system and clean energy platform, which learns from EV charging habits.
