BYD has just launched the new 2025 Seagull (Dolphin Mini overseas) on August 1, 2024, according to Car News China. Despite the update, the Chinese NEV giant still maintained the electric hatchback’s base price at about $9,650 (69,800 yuan).
BYD launches 2025 Seagull with no price hike
BYD has once again released an updated version of its cheapest electric vehicle offering, the Seagull, for the same price on Thursday.
The launch of the 2025 BYD Seagull came just five months following the electric city car’s last Glory Edition update on March 6, 2024.
The 2025 model still offers three variants: the Vitality Edition, Freedom Edition, and Flying Edition. They have base prices of RMB 69,800 (about $9,650), RMB 75,800 (about 10,500), and RMB 85,800 (about $12,000), respectively.
Design
The new 2025 BYD Seagull only received modest updates in terms of design.
For instance, the “BUILD YOUR DREAMS” logo of the previous model has changed to simply “BYD.” However, the front design remains the same.
The annual facelift model offers four body paint options: Arctic Blue, Warm Sun White, Polar Night Black, and Peach Pink. The base Vitality Edition uses 15″ rims, while the other two variants sport larger 16″ aluminum alloy rims.
Riding on the BYD e-Platform 3.0, it is 3780 mm long, 715 mm wide, and 1540 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2500 mm, similar to the previous iteration.
Inside, available interior colors include Deep Ocean Blue and Dune Pink. Higher variants have new configurations, including electric adjustment of the front seats. The new 2025 BYD Seagull maintained the design of the previous model version, with the following features:
- 7″ floating instrument panel
- 10.1″ rotatable central control screen
